Are you wondering why a seemingly nice kid could turn out like this? You're not alone. There are many factors that can create delinquent behavior in teens.

 

One of the main factors that experts agree on is the plight of broken homes that many children are being raised in. Often, in such cases, there is less supervision and the children have more time alone. Sometimes the first signs of delinquency occur in an effort for a child or teen to get the attention that he feels that he is lacking. Negative attention is better than no attention in many kids' minds.

 

Another obvious reason that a teen becomes a juvenile delinquent has to do with the environment that he is raised in. If the neighborhood is full of bad influences and other delinquents, chances are greater that the peer pressure will eventually erode his or her resolve to rise above the violence and crime and instead will succumb to it. Since moving a child out of the neighborhood that you live in is not always an option, you should look into getting help from The Coordinating Council on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention's National Juvenile Justice Action Plan, commonly referred to simply as the Action Plan. Help and hope are available. Seek it out.
