ADHD Center
Many Americans must face the challenge of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). It is estimated that nearly 5% of the United State’s population must grapple with this disorder; an alarming percentage of the afflicted are teenagers. Their normal teenage struggles of first romances, body image issues, and college preparatory courses are complicated by the existence of this disability. Since many schools are ill-equipped to handle students with this disorder, many parents have opted to enroll their children in an ADHD center.
Many public schools have attempted to prepare their faculty for the challenges of students suffering from this disorder; this preparation is well-meaning, but the fact is that the overpopulation in their student body negates their hope of coping with these afflicted teens. Some public school classrooms have 30 students or more. With one teacher per classroom, it makes it incredibly difficult for the instructor to help each student on an individual basis. Class sizes at an ADHD center will be much smaller, thus enabling staff members to focus on individual students.
The staff at such an institution is well-versed in methods of ADD education. The staff at these will be able to identify a young person’s individual challenges and incorporate that into their ADD education. The staff will know that each child’s symptoms are not identical. They will identify which students suffer from hyperactivity and which have an impulse control issue. This knowledge can facilitate ADD education.
At an ADD boarding school, the student will encounter a caring staff who will teach them the normal curriculum for their grade as well as help them tackle the symptoms of their behavior which might normally hinder their academic success.
