ADD School
Most Americans have been in situations where their behavior was misinterpreted by the person they were interacting with; unfortunately for many, this situation is a daily occurrence. People afflicted with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) often exhibit behaviors which seem deliberately rude or destructive; this misinterpretation of their conduct can often hinder academic success for many young sufferers. Those who show a difficulty blossoming in a normal learning environment might be better suited in an ADD school.
The benefits of an ADD school are manifold. One of the first benefits of an ADD school is the class size. Teachers at a normal learning institution simply do not have the necessary amount of time to devote to children with special needs. Due to overpopulation in the student body, many teachers must focus on instructing as many students as they possibly can; the result is neglect for students who have a disorder which impedes their ability to learn. This is a non-issue at an ADD school.
ADD schools make it a point to have smaller classroom sizes. This means that each teacher is provided with the opportunity to focus on individual students. A normal class size for a public school often surpasses thirty students. These teachers cannot float from desk to desk to check on the progress of each student. The class sizes at an ADD private school would be far lower, thus enabling teachers to focus more on each child.
Another feature of an ADD school has to do with the fact that symptoms of are often misjudged in a normal learning environment. Such judgements would not be harbored in a ADD school environment. The staff at an ADD school is familiar with the disorder and is prepared to work with the student in a patient manner.
