Comparing Private and public schools
Comparing Education and the Learning Environment
Is your child enrolled in a public or a private school? If they are enrolled in a public school, you have probably wished a thousand times you had enrolled them in private school and if theyíre in private school, youíll often wonder if you made the right choice as well. There are so many factors that come into play when considering where to send your child to school and often, money is the only reason a parent will not give their child the opportunity to attend private school. When funds are limited, a private school education is difficult to afford.
Many people feel that a child can be taught what they need to know in any learning environment but this isnít always the case. Education is often hindered by disruptive classrooms and disruptions are found more in the public schools because private schools will not tolerate a lot of nonsense in most cases.
A learning environment which is set up for educating our youth with the academics as a priority will be seen more in the private schools and yet, the truth athletic programs tend to be in the public schools. This is where there seems to be a problem in choosing the best schools for our youth. If you choose to send your child to a public school, the academic education will never equate, in most cases, to the education the student would gain in private schools.
On the flip side, of course, is if you have a son or daughter truly born with athletic ability, theyíll never quite be able to realize their full potential as an athlete at a private school or at least that is the popular opinion of many who have excelled in sports. Private schools donít have the school teams that are generally found in public schools.
Overall, the education your child will receive will be better in most of the top private schools but there are some fantastic schools throughout the country offering great academic programs with excellent sports and athletics. There are some private schools where your child can shine in sports as well. You just have to look at the individual child and decide which will be most important in the long runóyour childís education and learning environment should always be at the forefront of the decision making process because athletic ability can be recognized regardless of where the child goes to school.
